and it begins....

/No Initiative needed for this part, post your actions etc when ready!! /

You walk towards the dark forest and notice a large tent and then off to the side there are benches, the whole area is fenced off and one human and one dragon borne are standing at the entrance side by side; both are wearing nicely tailored suits with gold pouches attached to their belts, there is a line of people in front of the human male to gain entrance...the dragon borne is standing there looking downcast and shifting uncomfortably.....

You notice the Human hand an elderly human lady a gold piece and the human says something to her and she walks off to the right and into a large tent....

  1. A female dwarf dressed in chainmail dusty from her travels pauses on her way along the road to take in the scene. Her unsmiling demeanor casts a wary eye at the proceedings as her hands tighten slightly on the staff she bears. A hand crossbow rides on one hip, while a throwing hammer is belted on the other.

"And what might transpire here then?" she asks the pair standing in attendance.

(You should have the url for the char sheet, updated to account for money roll. Let me know if you need it again.)

    2. The Mad Professor: As you approach you hear two Drawves talking. The younger one says to the older one "the first thing I will do with me gold is buy some real Kilartan Ale, not the watered down stuff they sell in the local tavern"
After you speak the older of the two looks to you, his hair and his beard are gray and you see his age and his scars on his face, he looks kind of familiar to you. He turns to you and says.
"Aye Lassie, Do you be blind?" He reaches into his pouch and removes a rolled up parchment, hands it to you.. "These be posted through the whole of Liestra"

      It reads:
Have these times got you down? Struggling to make ends meet? Do you just plain like money? Well, I have the opportunity for you! Come to my meeting just outside the dark forest to learn more. It will be one week of hard work, fun festivities and camaraderie. Free gold just for attending. Pass this great news on!

You see him catch something out of the corner of his eye. He sighs heavily and says to his friend gesturing in the direction of the Deva, "will the fans ever stop spotting me? Fans and reporters wanting to know the whereabouts of the famous Shameus." "Yes I can drink anyone under the table, and yes I did single handedly quell the Giant rebellion, but I be retired now and you would think people would respect that"

He says a little louder now looking directly at the Deva, "young Deva, instead of sneakily trying to write your article why don't ye join our little chat?"
you got nick: /the old dwarf looks familiar to you as well/

  2. A Deva standing nearby is watching silently. He looks back and forth between the people gathering inside the fenced area and the two sentries posted at the entrance, listening to the exchanges as more folk arrive. He pulls his cloak aside and begins to rummage through his travel bag; in doing so revealing that he wears hide armor and has a longsword sheathed at his hip.

Drawing a small book and a quill from his bag, he begins to write furiously. Taking notice of the Dwarf, he steps closer to listen in on the conversation.

  3. A very hulky female Dragonborn approaches the other Dragonborn at the tent. She's dressed in tribal hide armor and has a huge, dangerously sharp axe strapped to her back. She stares the other Dragonborn down and says "Where do I sign up for hard work? There's no man, woman, tree or mountain that I can't conquer!"

The Dragon born loosens his tie and says "we will see about that" the human standing next to him elbows him and gestures at him to smile and says "remember what the boss man says" The Dragon Born straightens his tie, clears his throat plasters on a huge fake smile and says. "Well then my lady", bowing slightly, "have a seat on the benches to the left, you will be number 22, when your number is called walk into the dark forest you will see a path" He then moves slightly so you can pass.

  4. The femaile dwarf grunts noncommitally at the elder. "Well, a little more weight in the cion purse wouldn't be unwelcome, that's for certain. I guess if they're wiling to pay, I'm willing to listen."

    2. The shadow of what might have been a smile fleetingly appears on her face. "I nsee little enough here to frighten me...I admit being skeptical myself, but if nothing else, resting my feet on a bench for a while sounds good - the road's been a long one."

    3. " You're a brave one I see, my late wife was like that, well before"... he begins to choke up and you see a tear in his eye,he clears his throat. "We'll Lassie, good luck to you, why don't you get in line and maybe I will be seeing you a wee bit later" he winks at you and gives you a pat on the shoulder, "if you ever need anything, go to Kilarta say your a friend of Sheamus and you will get the help you need"

    1. Then she realizes he said "benches" and exits the tent, ripping it again as she passes by, and takes a seat on the nearest bench. Her pride prevents her from acknowledging her error.

    2. As you exit the tent you notice a human lady grab her child (around 3 years old) and bring him closer, casting a disturbed look your way, but you see the child's face light up when he sees you, and he kind of waves as you walk by.

After you sit down you see the child peaking out at you through the rip you created in the tent while exiting, still smiling at you. His mother is busily chatting away with two other ladies, not paying attention to the boy.

  6. A 6'2" middle aged human, dressed in plate mail and carrying a glaive strapped to his back, walks up to the two gentlemen guarding the tent flap. "Excuse me. Is this where I sign up to kill things?" A malicious grin splits his face. "Oh! And where be the booze?"

    1. The Dragon Born and the Human look at each other. The human looks you up and down, looks over to the dragon born who non conspicuously nods to the human. The human than says “ Your number is (initiative) have a seat over on those benches when your number is called you will head into the dark forest, there you will see a path- follow it.” As for booze.... we will see if you can earn it.”

The Human then moves to the side so you can pass.

    2. Tybor looks down at the number 18 on his paper, sighs, and walks into the tent and sits down. Looking to his right, he sees a good looking human female swiping a whetstone down the length of her broadsword. Smiling, he nods to her, "How you doin?"

    3. The human woman looks over at you confused. "What are you doing in the tent?" All those able to fight are being sent to sit at the benches, like my father was" "Oh and on your way out can you deliver this broadsword to my father he is the man sitting at the end of the third bench". You look out and see an aged war hardened gnome sitting on the end of the third bench.

    5. After handing the sword to the gnome with a bow, Tybor blushes slightly. "Well, they pay me for my muscles, not my brains." Grinning sheepishly, Tybor nods to the Dragonborn. "Hello, ma'am. The name is Tybor."

    6. The Dragonborn looks Tybor up and down and says "Greetings shiny human! I am Sora Stormcaller, the mightiest of barbarians! My axe is stained with the blood of many foes who thought they could best me! There is no challenge that I will not meet head on!" She then huffs another small cloud of lightning from her breath as if to confirm her prideful words.

  7. /lol you said meet head/

Tybor chuckles slightly. "Relax, lass. It's not me you need to impress. The name is Tybor Gunderslash. I have seen more battles then I care to remember. My glaive has served in his majesty's royal army for near on twenty years, during the great war, before I decided to retire and rebuild my parent's farm. I did that for ten years before I realized that life was not for me. So I dusted off my glaive and platemail and ventured off into the world to find adventure and fame."
